The zoom level of your map is automatically set to only show the areas included in your dataset. This is to provide the best possible fit of the included countries or areas in one view.
However, you can also manually set the zoom level of your map. This is useful if you want to focus on a smaller area or regions of a larger map.
Enabling and adjusting the zoom option
- Click on the map to select it.
- Expand the Map properties tab in the Settings panel on the right.
- Switch on the Auto-zoom option to adjust the zoom level.
Note: The Hide missing areas setting is also useful if you want to show only the entries that contain data.
- Hover over your map, then click the Zoom and resize button in the top right corner.
- Set your desired zoom by using the + and - buttons in the top left corner. You can also move the visible map area by clicking and dragging the map.
If you're working with several tabs, the zoom option may be applied to each tab individually.
By default, all maps have adjustable zoom levels. When the viewer hovers over a map, zoom buttons will appear on its upper left side.
However, you can disable this option to lock the appearance and scale of your map.
Disabling the zoom option and locking the map scale
- Click on the map to select it.
- Expand the Map properties tab in the right sidebar.
- Disable the Zoom controls option.
This is particularly useful if you have objects (text fields, icons, etc.) placed on top of your map. Since the objects are constant, they won't move together when zooming.
